HYSTERIC.

Yesterday Joy Hysteric held a little sunset soiree for the launch of all their summer 2012/2013 stock that will be hitting the stores soon.  Myself and the girls (Fab & Tas, Jess, Bianca, Fran & Kaity) all made the trip down to the coast for the event.  The cocktail party was held at the ever cool Lauxes on the Park at Broadbeach, where we were treated to cocktails, canapés and clothes... the 3 big C's that make for one great event!! There was also a little special guest blogger.... whom i assume you have already guessed from the pics, was Sara from Harper and Harley!  Oh and p.s... we got macaroons... bloggers heaven!!

Just a few snaps of what i wore to the Westfield project street style finale!! Some of you may find these shorts familiar... as they were once pants.... big wide leg flowing pants with slits in the front, which actually turned out to be quite hazardous when windy... often making me trip myself frequently... so i decided to chop them off for a more wearable summer item!

Westfield Chermside's Project Street Style

Thursday was the finale of Westfield Chermside's: Project Street Style comp.  It was a quiet little soiree held at Gerard's Bistro on James St.  Myself, along with the twins from Inside In Inside Out, and Soph from Owl vs Dove sat down with other fashionable babes to judge the finalists.  These scouted finalists showcased their new looks based on this season's trends.  The floral ensemble came out on top, and she walked away with a $1000 Westfield voucher.  My favourite however was Anthony in his matching print ensemble!! I'm obsessing over tropical prints at the moment.... so that may have slightly swayed my vote :) but i did feel he wore his outfit best, and it really suited his personality.  

p.s the food at Gerard's Bistro was to die for!!! If you have never had a smoked mashed potato ball....head down to Gerard's Bistro and get those balls in your mouth!! no pun intended ;)

Last week marked the end of the year for my fashion studies, were i presented one look modelled by the gorgeous Tasfia from Inside In Inside Out.  My look was inspired by a movie called Bodyguards & Assassins, filmed in old shanghai! I drew elements from both the surroundings and architecture of old shanghai and the ninja element in the movie, to create this jacket and shorts combination.  This was also my first time attempting embroidery... and i have to say i am so happy with the result, and keen to use embroidery in future pieces! 

These pics were taken just before my presentation went down in front of the panel... nerve racking stuff, but so happy with my look, and so happy i completed survived my 2nd year. 

Now i have the dilemma of what next......

My fellow blogger babes and myself got together to attend the emerging designers show at MBFF... which was also the last show i attended.  Sometimes the bogan in me just wants to wear a flanno and jeans... so i spruced it up with some heels and a leather headscarf to make it mbff appropriate!!

During the hustle and bustle of Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival i took time out on a Sunday arvo to enjoy some Ciroc cocktails by the river at Mr & Mrs G bar with the team from MAXMEDIALAB.  It was a really nice afternoon meeting new faces whilst sipping on cocktails!!
